I spent 40 years working for both brokers and carriers in mostly underwriting roles. Most of my four decades of experience was focused on developing and managing property and casualty insurance programs for affinity clients. My work experience was primarily on professional liability, with property, general liability and workers’ compensation designed to round out a full portfolio of commercial insurance products.
Brokers or Managing General Agents (MGAs) I worked for include Aon Affinity, Marsh/Mercer Affinity, as well as Association Member Benefits Advisors (AMBA). At each of these brokers/MGAs, I served clients in a senior management position as a Vice President, Senior Vice President or Principal. Additionally, while at Mercer Affinity, I served clients as the national Affinity Business Leader. Carriers I worked for include CNA, Hudson/Odyssey Re, Sentry Insurance and TIG Specialty. While working for CNA, Hudson and TIG, I focused on P&C insurance program management and product development, including responsibility for filing various products with countrywide state departments of insurance.
For over 25 years, I have worked extensively with Risk Purchase Groups, and served as President for seven such groups while working at Marsh/Mercer. In addition to being a licensed insurance producer, I completed coursework required to use the titles of Certified Insurance Councilor (CIC) and Certified Risk Manager (CRM).
Use of a Captive to offer insurance products to organizations, that in turn offer exclusive products to their constituents, members or some other affinity relationship. Products include Life and Health or Property and Casualty.
Develop and market exclusive personal insurance products designed for the unique needs of 50+ aged consumers with an affinity relationship to specific organization(s).
Develop and market or expand exclusive insurance products designed for healthcare practitioners and small medical group practices, including personal and commercial property and casualty products.
